The original Glidden Lodge was constructed in 1937. Even then, it gained a reputation as upscale and trendsetting with the best of modern amenities and gracious hospitality. Today's Glidden Lodge Beach Resort in Door County continues that tradition.

Luxurious one, two and three bedroom condo rental units all feature a breathtaking view of Lake Michigan. A gas fireplace, whirlpool tub for two, fully appointed kitchen and private patio or deck are standard features. All units have an eastern exposure to capture the stunning Door County sunrises over the water.

Other amenities include an exercise room with a computerized exercise bicycle, stair climber, state-of-the-art treadmill and multi-station weight system to allow guests to maintain fitness no matter how long they are away from home. After a refreshing day's activities, relax in the heated pool, whirlpool or sauna.  Later, select a movie from the Resort's large video library, and growing DVD library.  If you forgot a book, a free book exchange is located on a shelf in the lobby.

Glidden Lodge is located on what is referred to as the "Quiet Side" of Door County. From its scenic location on the sandy shore of Whitefish Bay on Lake Michigan, the Resort is about two miles south of Whitefish Dunes State Park with its many hiking trails, ski trails and sand beach.

No visit to Door County would be complete without a visit to the oft-photographed Cave Point, immediately adjacent to Whitefish Dunes. Here, the waves of Lake Michigan pound relentlessly against giant limestone cliffs.

Winter is a special time in Door County. It's a time of fresh, crisp air; clean, white snow; and clear nights where the stars sparkle with crystal brightness. Nowhere else does the glow of a fireplace beckon more to those who seek a cozy winter retreat. Call us about any special winter packages that may be in effect.

Spring in Door County witnesses the blooming of the many wildflowers found throughout the Peninsula.  Fall is the season of eye-popping colors.  During both of these seasons, the Resort offers special packages.  See our Packages page for more information.
