Memorial Day Weekend at Whitefish Dunes State Park

On Saturday, May 23, 2015 visitors to Whitefish Dunes State Park can take part in a Spring Exploration. Join naturalist Carolyn Rock, for an exploration of nature. Learn about the flora and fauna found along the rocky shores, forest floor and sunny openings. Gather for this meandering walk that is short in distance but full of discoveries. Walk begins at the Nature Center at 10 a.m. Be sure to pick up your Wisconsin State Park sticker for 2015 while you’re at the park. You won’t be sorry. Door County’s Whitefish Dunes State Park’s Carolyn Rock has published the February and March events page and we at Glidden Lodge are eager to share it! The park is just a 3.5 mile hike from our beachfront resort and we think this is a great way to get some fresh air during our late winter months. Ready for an outdoor adventure? August is here and that means more programming from Whitefish Dunes State Park’s Carolyn Rock. The park is just a 3.5 mile hike down the beach from Glidden Lodge. Sound enticing? We think so too! Saturday August 16 Candlelight Walk. Join the Friends of Whitefish Dunes for a night of outdoor fun. Enjoy a self-guided hike along the shoreline and through the forested dunes. Join Door Peninsula Astronomical Society members to view planets, stars and moons in the night’s sky on the beach.
